Or perhaps you’re looking to see whether Truckee is the summer vacation destination to suit you? Either way, you need look no further. We have tried pretty much every activity there is to experience in this town, and here are 5 of our top recommendations on things to do in Truckee in the summer:

Golfer’s Paradise

Golf lovers, you’re in the right place. The magnificent 18-hole Coyote Moon Golf Course is situated a staggering 6000 feet above sea level. Even those who do not particularly enjoy golf will enjoy the scenery and tranquil atmosphere at the Coyote. And don’t get us started on the stunning panoramic views! This place is truly a golfer’s paradise.

A Flight with a View

The exciting new mobile flight app Blackbird has recently announced a sea plane flight between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. The prices are surprisingly more reasonable than you would imagine for an experience like this. You can book tickets for as low as $125, and enjoy an exciting sea plane experience with stunning views over the gorgeous Lake Tahoe waters. Not only is this a much more exciting way to travel, you will also manage to avoid the dreaded traffic in this area! If you’re an adventure-seeker and ready for an unforgettable experience however, you must experience the Skydive Truckee Tahoe. If you are prepared to dive off a plane at least once in your life, there aren’t many better places to do it than here. Enjoy your way down as you soar over the gorgeous blue waters of Lake Tahoe and enjoy the stunning sights of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

A Nature Lover’s Dream

If you are into history and nature at all, then the Donner Memorial State Park is not one to be missed when in this area. The site has been designated a Natural Historic Landmark, as it was first developed to memorialize the unfortunate Donner Party that were trapped here in the winter of 1846-1847. Now, the park has a plethora of fun family summer activities to take part in, including biking, camping, hiking, cross-country skiing and fishing (amongst other activities!). It’s not a stretch to say that there really is something for everyone in this scenic park.

Relaxation on the River

If you’re planning to visit Truckee then it’s likely that you’re ready to enjoy being on, or near, the waters. We’d recommend river rafting if you would like to float along the peaceful Truckee River (peaceful with the exception of a few small rapids!). Check out the family-owned rafting company Truckee River Rafting for a casual and friendly experience. The entire trip lasts about two to three hours, and kids between the ages of 2 and 5 can ride free.

Make a Home here

If you’ve visited before and fallen for the temptations of Truckee, why not make this summer the final one you spend as a tourist, and look for your new home with The Sharp Real Estate Team, who will be sure to find you somewhere to call your own? With a plethora of properties on offer, and great local knowledge, you’ll feel like a local before you’ve even moved in.
